Netflix has dated the remake: THE ONE PIECE — WIT Studio’s from-scratch retelling of East Blue — premieres February 2027, and all seven episodes drop at once. The announcement came with a new teaser, first-look photos, and episode posters on Netflix Tudum.
The shape of it: seven episodes covering the ground the original anime spent dozens of hours on — Luffy meeting Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji — with pacing WIT Studio’s CEO George Wada has described as deliberately tighter and visually modern. This is not a remaster; it is the same beginning rebuilt for a generation that will meet One Piece through the live-action first.
Why it matters: February 2027 is now the second confirmed spike in the biggest year the franchise has ever planned — Season 3 of the live-action (The Battle of Alabasta) and the God Valley film follow later in 2027. Three gateways into the same story, each aimed at a different kind of new fan. Our where-to-watch guide covers Netflix and every official stream, and the After Netflix roadmap is the trail for anyone the remake hooks.
We will update the events calendar and the countdown deck the day Netflix names the exact date.
